House Narrative
God truly is good...and His timing is perfect. I had applied for and was told that I was the only one being considered for a townhouse south of where I work about 10 miles. I found out on Thursday, that, not only was I not the only one being considered, but the landlord had not even bothered calling my references, much less run the credit check.
Friday morning I called on this house, which was not going to be shown until Sunday, and asked if I liked it if he would allow me to give him my references and so forth. He agreed, and I called on Saturday, and arranged to meet him and provide the information. He indicated at that time that he would take the 3 or 4 best applications, and run the check on them, and then he hinted at money...as if he might put it out for "bidding". I was a bit worried, but was able to put it in God's hands...though I confessed to Him that I was having a bit of trouble with faith...and how it related to my input, and making it work. I received a call Sunday after church, stating that if I wanted to come over early and look through the house, and liked it, we could sign the lease, and "be done with it". I did, we did, and it is!
The house is in a great neighborhood right around the corner from groceries, drug store, and, most importantly, Starbucks and Baskin Robbins. For those who know our shopping...there is a Trader Joes less than a mile away as well! It is about 3 miles to work, and requires NO freeway driving to get there. On bad days, it should take 10 minutes. It has a lovely back yard, that the picture does no justice. A nice "shed" that used to be a garage, that is tight and clean. it is about 6 houses down from a lovely bike trail that goes from Mt. Vernon to past Leesburg. It used to be a very small house that was added on to, and they did a nice job. It will be about 15 minutes to church, and that will be getting right on the freeway.
I am including a map in case any of you wish to come see us. The one thing that I requested of God, was that he would provide a house that we could use to serve Him! He has been so good in that he has provided that and much more. Praise His name!
